Special Screenings at the Kingsway Theatre

Special Screenings at the Kingsway Theatre

Toronto Film Society, founded in 1948, is one of Canada’s oldest film appreciation groups. Our non-profit organization was originally formed to meet the demand for non-mainstream or commercial films, whether international, independent, banned, or forgotten.

TFS has established a partnership with the Kingsway Theatre and our members are enjoying screenings in their beautifully renovated theatre.  Located at 3030 Bloor Street West, on the north side, west of Royal York Road, the Kingsway is easily accessible by subway, just steps from the Royal York subway stop.  Street parking is also available.

The Kingsway has a fully-licensed concession bar which offers hot and cold food and beverages.

The Kingsway has a strict policy, which it enforces, prohibiting any outside food, beverages, large bags or backpacks to be brought into the theatre.  However, if you need to carry your items in these type of items, the theatre has a coat check room to store your bags in while you enjoy the films.  Purses are allowed.

I love vintage Hollywood. and your society sounds ideal. Sadly I live in Scotland, but I have a blog, Vienna’s Classic Hollywood and I intend doing an article about the TFS.
I’d welcome any comments from you.
Do you get many young folk attending your screenings?
    Thank you

I’m so sorry to hear this event has come to an end. Hopefully, some time in the future it will come to life again. Until then, I look forward to what may replace it.
