Virtual Screening of Nothing Sacred (1937)

Coming up on Saturday, December 18th in TFS’s special series of Saturday Night Zoom programmes is director William A. Wellman’s 1937 Nothing Sacred.

Brilliant blend of satire and uproarious slapstick aimed at circulation-hungry newspapers whipping up mass hysteria. Carole Lombard (as the presumed victim of radium poisoning) has a field day as the undeserving object of a nation’s adulation. The bedroom scene with March and Lombard is celebrated as an epitome of screwball comedy.

Join us on Saturday, December 18th at 7:30 pm for a socially-distanced Saturday night at the movies!

We’ll all enjoy a brief intro beforehand and some trivia afterwards, so let’s have a fun evening of great classic cinema amongst friends! Register here for the event

There is no charge for this screening, but we are suggesting a donation of $10 to help cover ongoing costs: paypal.me/TorontoFilmSociety

Are there any more film buff series in November or December 2021?

Hi Stefania, at this point we are planning a monthly virtual screening on the last Saturday of the month but we do hope to be back in theatres very soon!
